Manganovel.com is based upon a big dream by a Toshiba researcher during his stay at the MIT Media Lab. It not only introduces a scenario where Manga is ubiquitous on any display terminal, but opens up an entire community of WIKI-based translation activity on the global stage. Manga is the media. Congratulations to Manganovel.com!
Manganovel.com project is a collaboration between the MIT Media Lab and Toshiba. We hope that it will foster a community of collaboration which evolves as online translation using Wiki style technology. Certainly a world's first. Through this unique kind of participation and communication, there can be much more peace between different communities.
For the next step of manganovel.com, we're going to look at how to modify the user interface so it's much more experiential, and also look for the new business model opportunities in the Manganovel.com.
